Streaming Boosts Swedish Music Sales

Music sales in Sweden increased by 30.1% in the first half compared with a year earlier, as online streaming of music continued to grow in popularity.

I’m using Spotify since the first day (hours) it appeared in Switzerland. I really like the streaming thing. Legally or illegally, I don’t want to own/have on some kind of device the music. I listen to too much music and my computer, external HDD etc are out of capacity… and generally Spotify organizes the music much better than me :D unfortunately some musicians don’t want to have their music on Spotify, or at least not immediately.

well, but one day I had the surprise that there is a limit to the free unlimited (with ads) streaming and it’s 6 months. after 6 months you get only 10 hours per month of listening, for free.

i’m really considering becoming a payable member, when i get an ok job :) paying, will mean no ads, no limit, available also on my kindle fire, and some offline options…and it would work even if you are in a country where Spotify didn’t launch, like Moldova.

Some musicians are luddites :)

The Black Keys black out Spotify, MOG, Rdio and Rhapsody

The Black Keys’ latest album, “El Camino,” is out everywhere — except Spotify, Rdio and Rhapsody.

The band’s decision, first reported by Digital Music News, comes after Coldplay and Mac Miller made similar calls earlier this year to withhold their newest releases from streaming music services that give subscribers online access to millions of albums on demand - either for free during a trial period or for a monthly fee.

These guys seem to promote thepiratebay and alike websites :)))
