in St. Moritz… which I visited as part of the Bernina Express trip.
i planned the trip as following - leaving Zurich at 6:37, arriving in Chur at almost 8 am, quickly visiting Chur, taking the Bernina express train at 8:58… we arrived in Tirano at 13:12, visited it for one hour and had lunch… i was thinking - great! we’ll get an Italian pizza with a normal price… but, everything is done for the bernina tourists there… thus the pizza - not very good and the price - not very low :) then we took again the train, to St. Moritz, and most of the trip we were on the same way as going South, but in a normal waggon. Got off in St. Moritz, visited it for one hour… then back to Zurich, arrived at almost 22:00… a long day :)
first photo - inside the panoramic waggon of Bernina Extress train, of course, observe the shape of the windows…. but here is a trick - the train has several normal waggons that also connect Chur and Tirano. Chur (in Switzerland) is the most northern point of the journey and Tirano (in Italy) in the most southern point. The normal waggons are cheaper and do not have the panoramic windows… BUT, the windows in the normal waggons can be opend and you can stick your head out, see and take pictures of the other waggons (like here), take pictures of the scenery without having a window reflection, take pictures of yourself with your hair in the air :)))
today my brother and I took the Bernina Express train… which crosses the Swiss Alps. During this time of the year, it feels pretty cool going from green grass, very warm temperature… to snow and yet frozen lakes. the train goes up to 2200 and something meters… now i still feel dizzy after the journey and need some rest, but i will definetely come back to this attraction :)
