Incubus - I miss you

the lyrics of this song are some of the cutest ever

To see you when I wake up
Is a gift I didn’t think could be real

To know that you feel the same as I do
Is a three-fold utopian dream

You do something to me that I can’t explain
So would I be out of line if I said
I miss you?

I see your picture
I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine

You have only been gone ten days
But already I’m wasting away

I know I’ll see you again
Whether far or soon

But I need you to know that I care
And I miss you

p.s.: previously shared on Dec 25th (this is just for my record ))

WORKAHOLIC // BRANDON BOYD

HOW MUCH OF THE WEEK IS WORK, HOW MUCH IS PLAY?

It‟s about 97% play, 3% work. Most of my work is playful. I’m a very fortunate person, many blessings in my life. It‟s a matter of perception, you know?

really like this guy :)

Incubus - The Warmth - Alive At Red Rocks

So don’t let the world bring you down.
Not everyone here is that fucked up and cold.
Remember why you came and while you’re alive
experience the warmth before you go.

Incubus - Echo

There’s something about that look in your eyes,
something I noticed when the light was just right.
It reminded me twice that I was alive
And it reminded me that you’re so worth the fight.

I seriously wake up every day and I can’t believe that we are able to make music and not have to have a real job. My life’s goal has been to avoid having a real job.

Renman Music & Business

Steve Rennie, longtime manager of Incubus and a driving force behind the band’s multi-platinum commercial success, has launched Renmanmb.com, an online gathering place for musicians and music professionals trying to ‘break in’ to the business.

maybe it’s interesting/useful for some of you… it is a very open and interactive project/website.

summer festivals 2012?

thinking about summer… summer festivals. where to go? one thing is sure - the 1st of July is Radiohead in Italy… but I want a festival, I want to see RHCP, Incubus and many more… in Belgium - the Rock Werchter line-up seems good, but I’ve already been there before (hm, haven’t finished my story…), it also has Editors and so far it is the only date for Editors… also, Rock Werchter has Amon Tobin. but the most important ‘but’ is that the last day of the festival is July, 1, when I have Radiohead in Italy. I wish all this info was available before, then i would’ve taken a ticket for Radiohead on July, 3.

Then there is a festival in Germany not far from Zurich - Southside …it’s alright, has most of the bands that I want to see, except the main ones.

also thinking about Rock in Rio Madrid … RHCP and Incubus will play there, but that’s all… the other good part would be - visiting Madrid, cause never been there.

the Sziget line-up is bulding up…so far, not impressed, but would love to see Placebo again.

going to both Southside and Rock in Rio Madrid would be an option…but kind of costly.

what else? but the best would be before mid July, cause then I have to go home, Moldova.

although I like so much music, of different styles… Incubus is among the very few bands/musicians that I can name as favourites… maybe because my love for them dates back to my late adolescence, that is 11 years ago… I remember very well how I found out about Incubus - from MTV :) when the video for “Drive” appeared (year 2000). I loved the song, the video… and that young man in the video :)) being from Moldova, at that time, I could just dream about seeing the band live. I didn’t even find their CD… I got just what was on MTV, mostly “Drive” and “Pardon me”. Then in 2001 I happened to go to the USA, as an high school exchange student.
One of the first things I did there… bought several CDs, of Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Goo Goo Dolls, Linkin Park…
unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to see Incubus during that academic year. Then I returned home… again, without any opportunity to see any big music name live. But going to concerts became like a big dream/wish for me… and then I grew up a bit, was making some money… and more bands started to come to our neighbour Romania, thus in 2006 I went to my first big concert, in Bucharest, for Depeche Mode. note… to get from my city (Chisinau, capital of Moldova) to Bucharest, you need around 9-10 hours (a night) on a bus. I went alone, stayed over at a guy’s place I met on a forum (Internet) :) A great guy, we got along very well, met a couple of times afterwards…
meanwhile of course Internet became very big, with very good connection in Moldova… I was already getting all the music (of Incubus and others), then with YouTube, we could (still can) watch videos from concerts when ever we want… thank you to all the people in the world that contribute to this huge pleasure sharing :)
back to Incubus… Incubus played in Romania in 2007, but the gig was one day before my bachelor thesis defence :( really couldn’t go.
Later that year Rolling Stones played in Bucharest and I was there…
Then I had the enormous luck to go to Bologna (Italy) for a master programme (2007-2009)… and maybe it is not “normal”, but first thing that came to my mind was…. yoohooo, concerts! I started to look (over Internet) for concerts even before getting there. I went to so many gigs…big and small, different cities… and even different countries. oh, how much I love this kind of freedom!
I remember Incubus performed at several European festivals during one summer, but it was again during my exam period :(
and finally, late spring 2011, I received the news that in September I will move to Zurich for a year… again, periodically I was checking the concerts even before getting to Zurich. I was very glad to find out about Incubus playing here… bought my ticket in advance. and finally it happened on November 14, 2011. Incubus performed perfect… and I was very glad that they didn’t have the nowadays standard of 1 hour concert plus 15 minutes of encore… all together they played 1 hour 40 minutes, a great collection of songs. I would’ve loved to hear also Isadore, from the new album… I think it is my favourite off of the new album. Unfortunately, during the more up tempo songs, Swiss people were not very dancing, moving etc… we were so few that did this (mostly foreigners, cause everybody spoke English among themselves). Anyway, I was delighted! After the concert, I had an almost 2 weeks of listening only to Incubus songs… and I have decided that I will attend a summer festival where Incubus will play… These days it was announced that they will play at Rock in Rio Madrid …. and Red Hot Chili Peppers will also be there. and I’ve never visited Madrid… so it might be a great all inclusive opportunity!

After the concert, I had an almost 2 weeks of listening only to Incubus songs… and I have decided that I will attend a summer festival where Incubus will play… These days it was announced that they will play at Rock in Rio Madrid …. and Red Hot Chili Peppers will also be there. and I’ve never visited Madrid… so it might be a great all inclusive opportunity!

although I like so much music, of different styles… Incubus is among the very few bands/musicians that I can name as favourites… maybe because my love for them dates back to my late adolescence, that is 11 years ago… I remember very well how I found out about Incubus - from MTV :) when the video for “Drive” appeared (year 2000).
