the ruins of Pompeii and me a bit fooling around
The city of Pompeii is a partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, Pompeii was partially destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. (wiki)

this is in Rome, Italy.
as I wrote on my map page, i’ll post some pictures of the places I’ve visited before creating this blog…and give links to the albums on Picasa.
together with a very very good friend, at the beginning of May 2008, I visited Rome. we stayed at the place of my friend’s friend. It was a very relaxed 4 day trip. well, spiritually relaxed, cause physically….we’ve seen it all by foot. we did so much walking through popular and unpopular regions. we drunk beer at sunset on the ruins of the Roman Empire. took stupid pictures. had good food, ate on the street, had weird encounters with random people on the street, went up (by car) on a hill during the night and had an amazing view of the city.
thus, quite many shitty photos :)
